Maybelline The Nudes Palette Lookbook and Review

Happy Friday! Hope you all have a fun and exciting weekend coming up. For me, Jon and I are going to be spending some time down by the ocean tomorrow evening with friends and then Sunday we're going to see Marvel Live! Couple that with all the fun and exciting announcements that always come out of Comic Con and I'd say I'll be having a good weekend.
Since I was unable to do my Makeup Monday post this week I wanted to get my review up for the Maybelline The Nudes palette today. You can see pictures of the palette and swatches here.
I played around with the palette and did a couple looks that were suggested on the back of the palette as well as some of my own. Apparently I was awful at taking pictures of the looks but here are the ones that I have.

Overall I think this is a good palette for its money. Seeing as how this is the first of the standard drug store brands (I don't count NYX) to do one of these palettes, I think they're off on the right foot. Most of the colors have good color payoff and when wearing them over a primer, they last wonderfully all day long.
The only thing that I found wrong with the palette was that the diagrams on the back weren't always correct. They would say to use one of the darker shades as the brow bone highlight when it obviously should be used as a crease color. If you're going to be using those diagrams, just exercise some common sense if you think that a shade should go somewhere different than where indicated.
Is this the most special palette on the market? No. But if you haven't been wanting to splurge on the Urban Decay Naked Palettes or the Lorac Pro Palettes and are looking for a more budget-friendly option, this is definitely worth looking into. I've seen them out at most drug stores I've been in as well as at Target so you shouldn't have a problem finding one.
Lastly, on a completely unrelated note, I've been working on "catifying" my apartment a little more to try to help Lupin and Macaroni get along a little better. I have one of the big Ikea shelves in my living room so I condensed a couple shelves to make room for some levels for the kids. Lupin hasn't really taken to them, but Macaroni loves them!
Cleaning central, she is.
And that's it! Let me know your thoughts on The Nudes palette if you've given it a try. Have a great weekend!
