Influenster Unboxing: #MKGlam

I was crazy excited that I was accepted into this Influenster VoxBox. As always, I wasn't exactly sure what all this would entail, but judging by the questions in the survey I figured it would have something to do with Mary Kay products. I'm familiar with the brand name but I've never used anything from the brand so I was excited to give it a try. I had absolutely no idea I would be able to give so much of the brand a try. My jaw practically dropped when I received the box at work.
I mean, holy crap! My hand is in there for reference (and to cover my address) and that is a big VoxBox! And the goodies only just kept surprising me. When I opened the package, I couldn't believe how much was inside!

Let's just dive right in!

We received a catalogue with all the new fancy, beautiful products that we can explore. Everything is so bright and springy and I might be mildly obsessed with the bottle for their Belara Eau de Parfum. The little card provides us with our instructions as well as a breakdown of all the products we received in our box (all full-sized, too!).
Two brushes were included in this box: the powder brush and the cream eye color/concealer brush. Both of them are crazy soft and seem to be of great quality. The powder brush is a nice mixture of firm and giving and the cream eye color/concealer brush has a lot more give to it than I anticipated it having. I expected it not to move too much but this will be good for really getting the cream color up to the lash line and blending concealer right up against the lower lash line and in the areas around the nose.

This is the Translucent Loose Powder that "controls unwanted shine all day". When I was unboxing this at work, a couple of the girls happened to be around and one of them was raving about how good this product is. I love finely-milled products like this as they generally have a naked skin feel to them that I love.

This is their Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist. Look at that sparkle! This is going to beautiful for the summertime once I get my fake tan up and running but is also a perfect color for all year since golds help make my blue eyes pop out of my face (in a good way, of course)!
This is the Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator in Jet Black. The shape of the brush reminds me of the one that comes with the L'Oreal gel liner. I've actually never used it since I like using the thinner brushes to get more precise, thin lines but I'll certainly give it a go!
This is the Bronzing Powder in Light-Medium. This looks to have some shimmer to it so this will probably be a more all-over Bronzer as opposed to a contour bronzer, although looks can sometimes be deceiving with the shimmer so we'll see!
This is Lash Love Mascara in I <3 Black. This mascara claims to "define, defend and deliver four times in volume". Those are some bold claims that I am excited to explore! The brush is a small, plastic, tapered brush that has bristles that taper off at the end. Should be good for getting at those pesky little lashes in the inner corner!
This is the Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush. This seems like the token NARS Orgasm dupe, which I never, ever mind. The shimmer in this blush is beautiful! Again, this is going to be beautiful on tanned skin but works perfectly for Spring time, too!
Lastly is the NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango. This one was difficult to photograph and is a little deceiving all around because looking at the tube in the picture and in real life looks like this is a red gloss; however, when the wand is taken out with product on it, it is very clearly orange. Either way, it's a really fun color with some shimmer. Good for those warm, sunny Summer days!
And that's the box! I'm so excited to dive into everything and get to know this brand. For me personally, I never pursued it as I always associated the brands that you buy through a consultant to be on the pricey side and a bit unattainable, but nothing in the catalogue I received is outrageously overpriced and all the products are available for purchase on the Mary Kay website!
I'll be back with a full review and swatches of everything. I just wanted to keep this a strict unboxing.

April Loot Crate Unboxing : Dragon

Whether you're a geek or not, you gotta love dragons, amiright? I mean, they're the coolest things ever. They fly, they breathe fire, they're just stunningly beautiful. Or maybe it's because I'm a fire sign that I love them so much. Either way, I was excited when they revealed that this month's crate was going to be centered around them!

In Issue 9, we learn about the history and folklore associated with the dragon; we get firmiliar with Panser, who is better known as TradeChat on YouTube or Danielle from season 1 of King of the Nerds; test our Game of Thrones knowledge; and learn all about Elder Scrolls Online.

Now onto the epic loot!

Elder Scrolls Online Exclusive Figure | Symbiote Studios & Bethesda
You won't find this ANYWHERE else; it's just for Looters! Dragons, long lost to the passages of the Elder Scrolls, have returned to Tamriel, and the future of the Empire hangs in the balance. This Nord figure will gloriously decorate any desk or shelf to remind you of your strength, your power, and your unique skills. Claim your destiny!

I've said it before that I can really only play kids video games, not ones where you have to walk around for hours, so I don't know a ton about this game but oh my goodness, this guy is adorable. His little helmet comes off, too!

Game of Thrones Mystery Mini | Funko & HBO
You're never quite sure what's going to happen next in Game of Thrones. Who's going to die? Whose well-laid plans will unravel in one solitary moment? Will Jon Snow ever know anything? The surprise might be the best thing about the series. That, or the witty insults. Keep the element of surprise alive with this Game of a Thrones Mystery Mini.

Okay, so I don't watch this show (now that it's all on demand I think I'm going to try, though!) but my boss loves this show. Funny enough, I've been buying her these things like crazy to put in her office and they are difficult to find! And even better, she doesn't have this one!

Dragon Jerky | Harcos Labs & Loot Crate Labs
Whether you're traveling to Erebor through the Misty Mountains, or riding across the open plains of Skyrim, you're going to need sustenance. Provisions will grant you high stamina, high spirits, and overall battle-readiness. Good thing we've got your back for any sudden tough terrain or enemies that you might face. High in protein - low in danger!

I'm not even going to lie, this stuff freaks me out. It's that green stuff at the top of the picture. I mean, it makes sense that it's green but it's scary! I'll get my nerves up eventually!

Dragon Shield Screen Cleaner | Loot Crate Labs
You've had to battle through a lot of dungeons and kill a lot of dragons to get enough gold for your fancy, futuristic smartphone. Maybe you've even had to save a princess or two. You don't want it to get all smudged up with fingerprints and werewolf blood, do you? That's why we included this Dragon Shield Screen Cleaner. Your phone serves as your map, your raven, AND your portable game of cyvasse. Treat it with respect, and keep it looking new!

20 Sided Stress Dice | Loot Crate Labs
Is your dungeon master choosing the lamest quests? Does your friend keep RPing as Navi from Legand of Zelda? Grinding for herbs, running long distances without mounts, and fighting raid bosses with a terrible tank can get REALLY annoying. Well, you no longer need to resort to table flipping or rage quitting. Just take it out on this 20-Sided Stress Ball! Put your mind at ease every time you roll a 20, knowing that an epic Loot Crate is always right around the corner!

20 Sided Polyhedral Dice | Loot Crate Labs
It's always good to have a D20 around for all those tough life decisions. Especially when you're a geek or a gamer. You find yourself in quite a lot of dillemmas, and not everyone might understand your frustration. Should you play twelve more hours of Elder Scrolls Online? Should you binge-watch three seasons of Game of Thrones? Well, the answer to these questions is an obvious yes. But at least the die will make it look like it was a tough decision.

Dragon Slayer Tag | Loot a Crate Labs
Not all dragons are trainable. From Alduin of Tamriel, to Smaugg who laid waste to Dale and captured Erebor from the Dwarves, there are many dragons to be slain. With the great battle between man and beast raging on, it is now up to you to turn the tides of war. Wear your Dragon Slayer Tag into battle and lay claim to your legacy!

I love it all! I'm excited to bring all my new goodies to work to display!

Crafty : Repurposing Califia Jug

Oh, hi! Remember me? The worst blogger ever? I've said it in previous posts but tax season really takes the wind out of my blogging sails. I thought about making a cute hiatus graphic but was too tired by the time I got home. But April 15th is behind us so now I plan on being around much more regularly! Yay!

To kick off my return, I have a little craft! I started drinking almond milk since it's low in calories and I love having cereal in the morning. The cereal in itself can pack a calorie punch so if I lighten up the milk portion it won't be so bad. I was drinking another brand that wasn't kept in the refrigerated section but I was at a different grocery store and couldn't find my usual, so I branched out and got the Califia brand. To be entirely honest, one of the biggest reasons why I got it was for the jug. My crafting brain was going crazy! Luckily, it also happens to be quite delicious and I have been buying them up like crazy.  Needless to say, I have a couple of them stockpiled and I wanted to do something with one of them. I had some leftover fake flowers sitting around so I whipped this together!

I think it came out pretty cute and is a simple way to brighten up a space. I might take it into work since I'm decorating my cubicle now that we're not slammed. We shall see!

I'm expecting my Loot Crate within the next couple days so I should be back with that! I'll start up again with the Birchbox and ipsy posts next month and I'm hopefully going to get back into the makeup swing of things since it's starting to get sunny and wonderful outside!
