Healthy Living: Volume #4

At least it's a loss...

This Week's Weight:  154.2 lbs

I swear, there is nothing more discouraging when you're on a weightloss journey than when you think you are doing so well and you get so excited to weigh-in only to barely lose anything.  Ugh.

What Went Wrong:
The only things I can pinpoint is that I had ice cream cones on Friday and Saturday and I had a couple potato skins from TGI Fridays on Saturday.  I thought I was doing well this week!

What Went Right:
I was really proud of myself this week because I didn't allow too many excuses to come between me and working out.  I worked out 4 days so that's pretty good considering it went up from, like, one.  For the 4th, my friend and I just had a small get together and we vowed to be healthy.  She brought a delicious salad that had spinach, tomatos, red peppers, avocado, strawberries and almonds and lite raspberry vinigerette dressing.  She also made a quinoa salad with cucumbers, tomatos and onions.  That was my first time having quinoa and now I'm hooked!  We made burgers on the George Forman Grill and sweet potato fries and for dessert just had blueberries and raspberries with whipped cream and a few chocolate chips.

Friday I had a Phillies game so I ate light throughout the day (just some of the leftover salad from the night before) and then had a chicken gyro at a diner by my house before heading to the ballpark, where I had the above referenced ice cream.

Saturday I had an egg white McMuffin for breakfast and then went back to my apartment and did my Michael Jackson Experience game on my Wii, which is one heck of a workout (especially Speed Demon!), then had the leftover quinoa salad.  My boyfriend and I picked up a couple friends and we were headed down to Ocean City but stopped off at TGI Fridays for dinner.  I had a couple potato skins and then I ordered their Balsamic Chicken Caesar salad, without the balsamic glaze and the dressing on the side (which is TWO of those little cups of dressing, by the way!!).  Then we had ice cream when we got to the Boardwalk.

Sunday I made myself a salad of things that I stole from my parents' house haha I had romaine lettuce hearts that I cut up, corn I sliced off the cob, broccoli, feta cheese and a couple whole wheat croutons with light creamy balsamic vinigerette dressing.  I had that for dinner and lunch for three days, plus eating the berries for dessert.

I also have been doing a weight routine that I found in Women's Health.  Of course they don't make it easy to share on the website so you can find each individual exercise at the bottom of each page: thighs  stomach  back  calves  chest  arms  butt  I do all of these as a circut and perform 2-3 sets depending on how I'm feeling that day.  I perform as many reps as directed for each exercise.  I only have 5-pound weights but I'm going to get some heavier ones for some of the exercises since I think I would benefit from those.

Goals For The Upcoming Week:

I want to continue on my fresh eating path.  I haven't been dipping too much into my Healthy Choice entrees (although I admittidly have one for lunch because I was running late this morning).  I also want to keep up with my working out.  I'm happy with the commitment I've made so far and want to continue to show that committment in the weeks to come.  I'll see how I progress this week and if I don't lose much, or if I gain, I'll probably end up going back to doing MyFitnessPal in conjunction with everything so I keep myself more accountable.

I also need to stop eating so much ice cream!  That is probably a huge contributor and since I think that I have mentioned in every Healthy Living blog that I have had ice cream at least once during the week, that's going to need to stop.
