Swatches: Disney by Sephora Storylook Volume 3: Ariel

I'll keep the introduction quick.  If you can go see Cirque du Soleil's Totem show, you probably should.  Amazing.  Anyway, onto the eyeshadow!

So this is apparently Sephora's final Disney Storylook Palette (*sob*).  I've been enjoying these a lot, Disney obsession aside, and when I saw the pictures I couldn't wait to get my hands on this!!

As always, just the box that the palette comes in is beautiful.  I still have my other two in their boxes.  I just can't bring myself to throw them out!  I also love the little Ariel heads for the colors in the palette.

Of the three, I think this box is my favorite.  I was trying to capture the duochrome on this but I don't think it came off too well.  They really took liberty with the oceany depths that Disney used in the movie.  It is absolutely beautiful in person.  I can't even handle it.  The details along the framework are slightly embossed and feature a few of her beloved treasures.  This is heavy duty as always so you won't have to worry about it breaking apart.

Now lets dive right into the eyeshadow!  Brace yourselves.  I would suggest being seated while looking through the next couple pictures.

Are you with me still?  Do I need to pinch you?  How beautiful are these colors?!  Wait until you see them in person.  You'll die.  Obviously the colorful ones stand out the most but there are a fair share of neutral colors too so this palette is definitely more friendly.  I remember speaking with one of the ladies at Sephora about the Jasmine palette and she was saying how a lot of people were scared of it in a sense because of all the bright, bold colors.  I think this one is a really happy mix of both.  There also are a good number of mattes in here, definitely more than previous palettes.  Now on to the swatches!!  Stay seated.

Left to Right:  Blue Lagoon, Scuttle, Flounder, Sebastian, Flotsam

Holy moly that blue!!!  Both of them, actually!  I am in loooooove!  Being that this was the first row I swatched, my first impression of them is amazing.  The texture, like the others, is butter soft and the pigmentation is ridiculous.  I swatched with a cotton swab over Urban Decay Primer Potion, but even with that said I didn't really need to go over and over with the swatch.  I gave one swipe and I was blinded by color.  So beautiful!  Blue Lagoon is a true sea blue with purpleish/gold fine glitter.  Scuttle is your classic champagne shimmer.  Flounder is a matte orangey skin tone color.  Sebastian is a matte light coral that leans slightly pink.  Flotsam is a deep navy blue with fine glitter.

Left to Right:  Sea Shells, Les Poissons, Caspian Sea, Your Voice, Unfortunate Souls

Sea Shells is a creamy pink with a hint of a duochrome.  Les Poissons is a shimmery brown.  Caspian Sea photographed much bluer than it actually is.  It's really a beautiful green teal color with fine glitter.  Your Voice is a silver/lilac color with fine glitter.  When swatching this one had some fallout.  Unfortunate Souls is a purple/gray matte.  I love that Ursula gets some love in this palette!

Left to Right:  Atlantica, Fins, Sick of Swimmin', Ursula, Sha La La
Aaaaaaah the greens!!  So beautiful.  Atlantica is beautiful in person but it's on the light side so was being a pain in my butt to photograph.  Fins is stunning with tons of fine flecks of gold glitter.  Sick of Swimmin' is a full-on white/pink duochrome and is very pretty in person.  Ursula is a purple/brown with a very fine, slight hint of glitter.  Sha La La is a matte light cranberry.

Left to Right:  Triton, Wanderin' Free, Jetsam, Sea Witch, Treasures Untold
I seemed to have to make a choice on which I wanted to show up better in a picture:  Triton or Sea Witch.  I chose Sea Witch, but Triton is AMAZING in person.  It is probably the truest gold I have in my collection and will probably look amazing when applied wet.  Wanderin' Free is a shimmery rose gold.  Jetsam is a wonderful partner to Flotsam being a nice deep green with fine glitter.  Sea Witch is BEAUTIFUL.  I cannot express how happy I am to have a purple that actually looks as good swatched as it does in the pan!  I love this so much!  Treasures Untold is a light pink shimmer with a hint of golden duochrome.

On my first impression I'm going to say that this is my favorite palette of the three.  I was not let down by one color and they all appear to be just as beautiful on as they are in the pan.  Needless to say I am going to be having so much fun with this this weekend!  I will be sure to be back with a review and a lookbook probably by next Friday so I have adequate time to test it out, but if these swatches are any indication this is going to be a must have!  The palette, as well as the rest of the collection, will be online to everyone in June and you can sign up on their website to be notified when it goes on sale.  The palette and everything else will be available in stores in July.  But if you take some advice from me, jump on this one.  I have a feeling this will go quickly!
