Healthy Living: Volume #2

Happy Hump Day!  Now all I can picture on Wednesdays is that camel walking around so happy about life.  Oh Geico, how you change lives. 

I'm here with my weekly weigh-in and recap of my road to a more healthier me!

Last Week's Weight:  153.9 lbs.
This Week's Weight:  153.1 lbs.

What Went Wrong:

Well, being that this was my week to get back into the swing of things I did some messing up along the way.  I may have had two cheat days with one being pretty extreme.  I had a lot of ice cream, I had a big, greasy, cheesy burger, a lot of snacky foods and probably more junk than I can remember.  Truthfully I'm surprised I lost any weight at all!  I also only worked out once this week but the one time I did work out was a nice 4.7 mile walk with a little jogging.  I would tell myself every day when I was leaving work that I was going home and working out but by the time I would get back to my apartment I would have a million reasons why I couldn't anymore.  I definitely need to be more disciplined. 

What Went Right:

I actually cooked myself a meal!  I made wheat spaghetti with garlic, crushed red peppers and olive oil.  It's very delicious (although I put WAY too much crushed red peppers in there and it is quite spicy!) and it's nice to not have too much sauce and just have a simple flavor.  Plus I made a lot of it so it's lasted me for a few days worth of lunch.  I was very proud of myself for getting my butt out the door on Friday to go walk/jog.  I almost talked myself out of it but since I have Fridays off in the summer I don't see any excuse as to why I shouldn't be working out.  I also have started snacking on better things.  I bought a bag of almonds to keep at work so when I'm hungry I can snack on those. 

Goals For The Upcoming Week:

Obviously I would like to get myself to work out more.  I'm going out to dinner tonight with my parents so that probably won't happen today but tomorrow I shouldn't have any excuses.  I just need to nut up and do it!  I also want to make sure to limit myself to one cheat day a week.  I don't want to go back to counting calories since I don't have a crazy amount of weight that I have to lose, it's just more of wanting to lose it so I don't feel like I necessarily need to hold myself to a 1,200 calorie a day diet.  Since I did do MyFitnessPal and was on a 1,200 calorie a day diet, however, I am far more aware of what I'm eating throughout the day and can eyeball things and be more concious about it.

For working out, I think I'm going to go back to relying on my Wii.  I have fun with that!  I also need to go get some weights as all the weights I have are at my parents' house and they use them so I'm not going to steal them away.  I saw someone do a Marshall's haul and they got a bunch of workout stuff from there so I'm going to go check that out on Friday.

I also want to cook something again.  I reorganized my Pinterest boards so now I have a board with all healthy meals as opposed to one recipe board where I would get distracted by very unhealthy things when I was trying to find something healthy.  In that vein, I also need to do a better job of grocery shopping and stop buying so much quick stuff (Lean Cuisines, Smart Ones, etc.) and eat more fresh food, including fruits and veggies.

That was my week.  A loss is a loss and I'll take only losing a couple ounces over gaining anything.  Hopefully I'll be able to get myself more in the game this week and lose more next week!
