Rediscovering: Wet N Wild Color Icon Palettes

I have put myself on a makeup no-buy until further notice.  I have so much that I barely even know what I have, which is why I'm slowly but surely making my way through my collection so I can weed out stuff I don't want or like and make room for stuff I'll actually use.  I'll probably do a post of the looks I did once I'm "done" revisiting these products, but until then, I figured I'd take you guys through this little journey with me and I'm starting with my Wet N Wild Color Icon Palettes!

These are some of the best drug store buys you can get.  For only $4.99 you're getting eight colors that are more often than not incredibly pigmented!  They have two "sets", one is more day-appropriate (if you follow those guidelines that is!  I know I sure don't ;) ) and the other is for a more dramatic look.  Obviously there's no rules saying you have to use them as directed but at least if you're beginning you have something to point you in the right direction!  Let's take a look, shall we?

I <3 Matte
I know this one was re-released as something else but I don't know what the other name was.  As this name indicates, all the colors are matte and nicely pigmented.  I used this one today and I enjoyed the look I created.  The only thing I don't like and this is a general dislike with most mattes is that they're difficult to blend into one another.

Sparkle 'Til Morning
I love the combinations on this palette!  The teal, the copper, the glitter and shine!  It's beautiful.  This is a great one to do a nice, neutral eye with a pop of color.  This palette is also amazing for blue eyed gals like me since all these colors are going to make your eyes pop out of your head!

Comfort Zone
This palette has seen better days lol These all went through a move and some of them fared much better than others, but this palette still is stunning.  This is great for people who aren't too experimental with their makeup but do enjoy some drama.  It's really easy to play this one up and do a great smokey eye.

Shimmer The Night Away
I truly don't know that I ever used this one lol I remember running around like crazy trying to find it since it was in a limited edition display in December but it doesn't look like it's been used.  But that blue is calling my name!  This is definitely one I'm trying out this weekend so I can go crazy with those colors!

Blue Had Me At Hello
This one is one of my favorites for creating a smokey eye.  I love, love, LOVE this palette!  The blues are absolutely beautiful!!

Petal Pusher
I wore this one yesterday.  Again, love.  It's so funny how much you realize how much you love these once they're picked back up!

I know that Comfort Zone, Blue Had Me At Hello and Petal Pusher are all permanent and available at Walgreens right now.  The other ones I'm not so sure about.  I know there were some limited edition ones that came out recently and I think there was one that reminded me of Sparkle 'Til Morning but I'm not totally sure.

Have you tried these?  What do you think?
