Lookbook: {Rediscovered} Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume 1

Hello pretties!!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  Mine was nice and relaxing, which is always a good thing.  Did a little shopping, a little catching up with friends, ate some good food and watched some wrestling.  Can't complain about that!  Today I'm back with my lookbook from this week and I'm featuring a throwback!  I used my Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume 1, which you can find swatches of here courtesy of Temptalia.

This palette has a ton of colors, not too many neutrals, and a whole lot of glitter, which could make putting together a more work-appropriate look tough, but I did my best!  Luckily my work doesn't mind if I go a little crazy with my makeup ;)

To start with I wanted to just do a neutral look since the neutral colors are quite pretty!

I was quite impressed by the fact that when I used my trusty Milani Liquif'Eye Eye Pencil and topped it off with the black color in the palette, Perversion, there was absolutely no transfer onto the top part of my lid! I'm never that lucky and was very impressed!  Otherwise, I enjoyed this look.  I used Midnight Cowboy wet since it is very glittery and it helps to minimize the fallout.

Sorry that the close-ups are so blurry!  When I was putting this together I realized I never took any close-ups of the eye on the day I wore this makeup so I improvised.  I enjoyed this look a lot as I generally like this color on me.  I used my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk as a base and then topped it off with Last Call and just blended it out!  I also rediscovered my love for the Khroma Nude Lip kit in this look!

I was really happy with this one!  I love looks like this that are just light but so colorful and happy.  Especially on crappy weather days; it just adds a touch of happiness!  For this look I used Scandal, Grifter (wet) and Mayhem.

And last but not least, this was my extra play day as I've been wanting to try the Khroma lashes that I bought.  I'm not a huge fan of these particular ones as I think they're way too dramatic for my taste (these are called Glimmer if this is your cup of tea!).  On my eyes I used Protest on the inner and outer corner and Absinthe on the center of the lid over my NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to make the color pop a bit more.  Then I just used a mix of the browns in the Naked Basics palette in the crease and one of the lighter colors to blend it out and as a highlight color.

This was kind of a "meh" palette in my opinion.  I don't know that they give enough variety in colors to pull of several actual looks unless you're looking for very extreme, in-your-face colorful.  In other words, I don't feel as though there is enough balance between the neutral colors (ones that can be used as base colors on the lid) and accent colors.

For this week I will be using my Color Workshop palette that I received for Christmas.  I have pictures of the palette here but no swatches.  I've been meaning to give this palette its due since the swatches impressed the crap out of me so here we go!
