April Favorites

Hello!!  I can't believe it's almost the end of April.  How times flies.  But with the end of one month brings a time to reflect on all the stuff I have been reaching for and the other randoms that I have been loving all month!

MAC Fix+ has been a product I rediscovered, mainly because I've been out of it and finally got around to picking it up.  It's perfect to use as a setting spray as it helps to blend all the products that you use together (i.e. creams and powders) and just makes everything look seamless and flawless.  It's also a great product to use when you want to use an eyeshadow wet.  Just a little spritz on your brush and you're good to go!  It's also just a nice, refreshing spray to use on your bare skin, especially when the weather is hot.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle and benefit Watt's Up has been my absolute favorite highlighting combination.  The glow that it gives your skin is un.real.  I use the Watt's Up first, being that it's a cream product, and then I use the Skin Finish over top with a fan brush to lightly set and add an even more glowy glow.  I know that the Skin Finish looks really dark in the pan but it's not; it just gives a nice, subtle shimmer to the look that doesn't darken the skin at all.  The result is spectacular!  I'm excited to see what it will look like on tanner skin!

Of course my Revlon Colorstay Quad in Sea Mist is going to make the cut.  I have been in love with this palette since I first laid eyes on it and it hasn't really let me down.  Whether I'm going for a light look to wear with liquid liner or a bold, colorful look, it has a great selection and a beautiful combination of colors.  Use wet to intensify!

I have heard nothing but good things about Anastasia Beverly Hills' brow products so when the VIB event rolled around at Sephora, I figured I'd give a couple of their products a try.  I picked up the Perfect Brow Pencil in Medium Brown and the Tinted Brow Gel in Brunette.  I don't know how I survived before this stuff.  The pencil is a joy to work with.  There is a spool brush on the opposite end to help comb through clean brows and then to help soften the pencil once it's on.  What I love most is that it stays put and doesn't smear all over the place like some other pencils do.  It also is soft enough that you can build up the intensity of the color that you want.  The Brow Gel helps add some color but also keeps those hairs in place.  My brows can get kind of crazy since I keep them a little thicker than most but this gel tames them and lasts all day long.

I think Milani is one of my new favorite drug store brands when it comes to eye products.  Their Liquif'Eye Metallic Liner Pencil comes in I believe five colors of which I have three of, but I obviously reach for the black one the most as it is the most versatile.  The 01 Black color isn't metallic or sparkly at all, but just a nice, rich, deep black.  When used on my waterline it stays on there for longer than most.  I do start to see some fading and patchyness in the afternoon but if you care enough to touch up you can keep a spare with you.  The Ultrafine Liquid Eyeliner in Black Vinyl is another wonderful product that stays on forever.  It's a waterproof formula and they mean it; this stuff isn't going anywhere.  In fact, it takes some effort to get it off at night, which is fine by me if it means it lasts all day!  I also enjoy the applicator, which is a stiffer, fine point brush.  This allows you to get precise lines and makes it easy to transition from thick to thin.  I also have this in the purple shade (Prismatic Purple) and it is stunning!  Again, I just tend to reach for the black most since it's most versatile.

This is Revlon Lipbutter in Pink Lemonade.  My lighting was being jerky but this is far pinker than photographed and works with really any look you want it to.  I love the Lipbutter formula to begin with so it didn't take much for me to fall in love with this!  I also have been loving, although not pictured, the Maybelline Color Whisper in Coral Ambition.  Talk about the absolute perfect color for Spring!  It's also a formula that's buildable depending on the look you're going for.

This came as a surprise to me as I'm not generally a bold lip kind of girl.  I like my nude lips and I don't really stray too far away from them.  So when I fell in love with the Maybelline Vivids collection of lipsticks, I was shocked at how much I loved them!  I own the three pictured above in Shocking Coral, Pink Pop and Fuchsia Flash, although I find myself reaching for Pink Pop the most out of the three.  These are pigmented like crazy and the formula is so comfortable to wear.  There's a hint of glossiness to these as well.  I get tons of compliments on these shades from girls and guys alike!  But heck, I don't even care, I love them so that's all that matters!

This is a first for me.  I've never really been too attached to makeup wipes.  I'm attached to my face wash, my moisturizers, eye creams, but never face wipes.  These, however, have changed my mind completely.  These are the Maybelline Clean Express Makeup Wipes.  When I say amazing, that doesn't even begin to summarize these things.  They melt your makeup off in like 5 seconds.  With certain wipes, you kind of need to keep going over and over your face to get everything off, but with these, a once-over on your whole face is enough to get everything off, even if you're wearing a full face of makeup.  Your eyes don't take too much effort either, although slightly more than your face, but not much.  These are absolutely fabulous.  So much so that I might try the rest of this line!

Some other random favorites of mine for this month...

I've been obsessed with this song:

I'm not overly familiar with 30 Seconds to Mars but I've been rocking out to this song like crazy since they started playing it on the radio station I listen to the most.

I'm still loving Smash, although I'm not loving it being on on Saturdays now.  I can't imagine that that's any good for that show's future.  But if we can just take a couple minutes to just sit and enjoy Jeremy Jordan's voice:

Can we also talk about how nice it is to have baseball back?!  I'm a Philadelphia Phillies fan and my Mom and I have a partial season ticket plan so we get 15 games included, and then I add on a couple more here and there.  I'm just waiting for it to get warmer so it will be much more enjoyable!  I was watching a Washington Nationals game on TV this afternoon at work (I love having control of the TV in the lobby!) and told my Mom we needed to go down to a game there again this year.  I've gone down there a couple times and I love that ballpark, plus Jayson Werth is my favorite player so I need to pay him a visit!

I've also been really obsessed with caramel this month.  Caramel everything.  Caramel topping, caramel coffee, caramel creamer, caramel hard candies, caramel scent.  I'm like the Tom Haverford of caramel this month.  My boyfriend got me a Keurig for my birthday last month so I've been drinking caramel coffee in the morning before work and then caramel vanilla cream coffee at work.  I'm just all about caramel.  Yum, yum, yum!!  OH!  And Wawa started carrying this ice cream company called 2nd Street Creamery and they have this flavor called Copper Kettle Caramel.  Ohmygod.  It's Caramel flavored ice cream with caramel ribbon and sea salt fudge truffles.  I can't even.  I want it now!!

So that's about it for this month!!  Is there anything you've been loving this month?  Let me know!
